An Ohio State fan used his intense dislike of Michigan to show he's making progress on his recovery.
Zach Lawrence, a dedicated Ohio State fan, suffered severe brain trauma after a car crash in the Republic of Georgia while on a business trip this past spring.
His family was able to raise more than $200,000 to bring Lawrence back to the United States and pay for his medical bills, and he's currently being treated back in Columbus, Ohio under the care of world-class doctors.
Amazingly, even after his devastating injury, he still maintains his loyalty to the Buckeyes.
Per Jessica Wehrman of The Columbus Dispatch.
While recuperating at Dodd Hall Rehabilitation Center at Ohio State University, the Dublin resident was given one button to push for “yes” and another to push for “no.”
“Do you like Michigan?” he was asked.
Lawrence immediately pushed the “no” button. And then — just to make sure everyone had heard him the first time — he pushed it again.
“He always makes a face when we mention Michigan,” said his wife, Meghan. “We’re pretty sure he’s in there.”
Lawrence still has a long way to go, but he's already doing better than doctors initially thought, and hopefully he's able to make a full recovery.
