Here’s the message from the Buckeyes’ captain offensive lineman.
An Ohio State football captain has a message for the Buckeyes’ recruits calling for changes on social media.
He thinks they’re out of place.
OSU’s captain offensive lineman, Billy Price, doesn’t think Buckeyes’ recruits should be calling for J.T. Barrett to be benched on Twitter. Several of Ohio State’s recruits have voiced their support for backup Dwayne Haskins since the loss to Oklahoma.
“Just kind of understand that you are being recruited as a high school athlete and you’re not part of the program at this point,” Price told reporters earlier this week, per Land of 10. “You’re an extension of this program and you represent this program. But again, the opinions and things, leave that to the coaches, leave that to the players. Again, until you are part of the program and have put the work in just as much as the other guys have, you’re opinion and sometimes some of your voices don’t need to be heard. So in regards to that young man, sometimes it’s better to not be heard.”
Urban Meyer, along with Ohio State’s players, have remained confident in Barrett after the tough loss to the Sooners.
OSU is set to take on Army on Saturday.
