Virginia native Brailyn Franklin announced his commitment to Penn State today on Twitter.
A three-star recruit according to Rivals and ESPN, Franklin narrowed his choices down to Maryland, Syracuse, Temple and Virginia Tech, in addition to Penn State, before choosing to play with the Nittany Lions.
At 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds, Franklin is the No. 61 athlete nationally and the No. 25 prospect in Virginia, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He finished with 18 sacks as a junior and was a second team all-state selection in 2015.
Currently, Penn State has 12 commitments in the Class of 2017, ranking 25th in the country.
