Indianapolis Colts Release Former Penn State OLB Garrett Sickels

Garrett Sickels was released by the Colts on Tuesday.

According to an official release, former Penn Stater standout Garrett Sickels was released from the Indianapolis Colts' practice squad on Tuesday.

Sickels originally signed with the Colts as a free agent this past May after going undrafted, and he participated in training camp.

He played in three seasons (he redshirted his freshman year) for the Nittany Lions, appearing in 39 games (24 starts), recording 93 tackles, 20.5 tackles for loss, 11.0 sacks, one pass defensed, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.

Sickels earned All-Big Ten honors in 2015 and 2016, and was named Penn State's Co-Defensive Player of the Year in 2016.
