With the 2020 recruiting class now finalized, all eyes are on the top prospects in the Class of 2021. One of the top offensive linemen in the class, four-star offensive tackle Landon Tengwall, has had his eyes on two elite schools for a while. But now he’s made his choice.
In an announcement streamed by Rivals on Thursday, Tengwall announced that he is committing to Penn State. The move comes several weeks after he narrowed down his list to two: Penn State and Notre Dame.
247Sports rates Tengwall as the No. 45 overall prospect in the Class of 2021. He is the No. 7 offensive tackle in the nation, and the No. 1 prospect from the state of Maryland.
Speaking to 247Sports this week, Tengwall declared that he thinks he’ll feel happiest at Penn State.
“…I just really identified with those guys (at Penn State) a lot more,” Tengwall said. “It’s nothing against anyone, not at all, but in the end, I just feel like I’ll be happiest at Penn State.”

Tengwall is the third player to join Penn State’s 2021 recruiting class. With his addition, the Nittany Lions’ class now ranks No. 31 in the nation, and ninth in the Big Ten.
But if James Franklin and his staff can get a few more recruits like Tengwall, he could have a stellar class in the making.
How do you feel about the Tengwall commitment?
