You can start the 24-hour clock on Landon Tengwall’s college decision. The four-star offensive tackle will be picking between Notre Dame and Penn State tomorrow afternoon.
According to Rivals.com, which will announce his choice, he’ll make the call at noon ET on Thursday. As some recruitments do, this one comes down to the player’s childhood team vs. the one that made him a huge priority from the start.
The four-star tackle out of Olney, Md. is listed at 6-foot-6, 315 lbs. Rivals has him as the No. 27 overall recruit in the 2021 class, and No. 2 at his position.
He’s slightly lower over at 247Sports‘ composite rankings, but still firmly within the top 50. Over there, he’s No. 45 overall, No. 7 among tackles, and the top recruit in Maryland.

A year ago Friday, Landon Tengwall named Notre Dame as his top school. He already had offers from around the country by that point, but a visit to South Bend made a huge impression at the blue-chip prospect. He also grew up a Notre Dame fan, in a family of Fighting Irish supporters.
Penn State was very early on prioritizing Tengwall, which always helps a program in a heated recruitment like this. According to Rivals, the Nittany Lions have “consistently recruited him the hardest” throughout the process.
That is where the recruiting analysts who log predictions with 247’s crystal ball, 92-percent believe he’ll wind up with James Franklin and Penn State. It’s a pretty overwhelming percentage, but we’ve seen them wrong before. This time tomorrow, we’ll know where he’ll play in 2021.
