Penn State football has been on a hot streak since Friday. The Nittany Lions added another commitment this afternoon, this one coming from a local product.

Ashland (Pa.) North Schuylkill three-star inside linebacker Tyler Elsdon became the fifth prospect to commit to PSU since Friday. All five are from the class of 2020.

Hard work truly paid off for the 6-foot-3, 215-pound Elsdon. He spent the last two weekends camping at Penn State, hoping to impress the coaching staff enough to earn an offer.

Once he did that, it only took him a couple of days to capitalize on the opportunity.

"Since the age of 5, I have been playing football in my hometown. Home is where I learned to love the game and everything it has to offer," Elsdon wrote. "With that being said, I am honored, blessed and extremely grateful to announce that I will be staying home and will be committing to Penn State University."

Elsdon is the No. 14 rising senior in the state of Pennsylvania and the No. 45 inside linebacker in the 2020 class, according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings.

Penn State currently has the No. 4 recruiting class in the Big Ten and the 19th-overall in the country.
