The five-star defensive end won't start with his hand in the dirt.

Penn State landed the top uncommitted recruit in the nation this morning when Harrisburg (Pa.) five-star strong-side defensive end Micah Parsons signed with the Nittany Lions.

Parsons brings defensive versatility to Happy Valley. He's listed primarily as a defensive end, but played some linebacker in high school.

Apparently, PSU head coach James Franklin thinks Parsons is worth a look at linebacker in college as well. He told the media today that the blue-chip recruit will begin his career at middle (Mike) linebacker when he begins spring practice.

Penn State is looking to replace highly-productive middle linebacker Jason Cabinda, so there is an opening at the position. Can the 6-foot-3, 235-pound Parsons fit the bill?
