Penn State held on for a 31-30 overtime victory over Boston College in the 2014 New Era Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium in December. Next Tuesday, Nittany Lion head coach James Franklin will return to the Bronx to throw out the first pitch before the New York Yankees take on the Tampa Bay Rays.

We're sure Franklin is happy about the good publicity, but something tells us he doesn't want to be rushing back to the Pinstripe Bowl with his team any time soon. The second-year head coach has proven himself as a recruiter but is intent on taking the next step on the field in returning Penn State to national prominence, and that next step includes appearances in higher-tiered bowl games.
