Penn State fans are expected to turn out in a huge way in Pasadena for this year's Rose Bowl game against USC.

Some Penn State fans may be disappointed by narrowly missing out on the College Football Playoff, but the Rose Bowl is a fine consolation prize for the Big Ten champion Nittany Lions. Based on early ticket sales, expect to see a lot of blue and white in Pasadena on January 2.

According to Penn State assistant athletic director Jeff Garner, PSU has already sold out of its ticket allotment of 20,000.

Ticketmaster has also sold out of all of its tickets for the Rose Bowl game between Penn State and USC.

This will be Penn State's fourth trip to the Rose Bowl, making it a pretty special occasion for the fan base. Last year, Iowa made a rare trip to the game, and Hawkeye fans were everywhere. Penn State appears to be set for a similar turnout. Hopefully, for the sake of everyone that makes the trip, the Nittany Lions are more competitive against the Trojans than Iowa was against Stanford.

USC opened as a seven-point favorite to beat Penn State.
