Week 8 of the college football season rolled on Friday night with a what started as a legitimate Big Ten clash between Northwestern and Ohio State.

The Buckeyes and Wildcats remained close for much of the first quarter until Ohio State blew it open en route to a 52-3 win.

Big Ten action continues this afternoon with a huge match-up between Penn State and Michigan.

ESPN's College GameDay kicked off from Happy Valley before the huge weekend of games. To help the GameDay crew break down the day's action, the crew announced the Guest Picker for today.

Penn State alum and former All-American diver Lara Spencer was announced as the guest picker.

Fans were NOT happy with the choice, namely because another former Penn State star was on campus.

United States Women's National Team star Ali Krieger was already on campus this weekend and seemed like a logical guest picker selection.

Krieger was a two-time All-American for the Nittany Lions and consistently carried the team to the national tournament.

Since her standout Penn State career, she's gone on to represent the U.S. in three World Cups.

Despite her success on the pitch, the ESPN-ABC connection was too much overcome as ESPN went with Spencer. It's also possible Krieger turned down the chance to be on the show.
