Update: Penn State Football's Student Season Tickets Sell Out In Several Hours, Not Six Minutes

Update: If you thought Penn State selling out its season tickets in six minutes every day seemed a bit fast, that's because it was. They sold out over the course of several hours each day, with the incoming freshmen class buying its tickets in less than six minutes.

Earlier: Penn State football fans are known as some of the most passionate in all of America. Its students are no exception, as Beaver Stadium's student section is arguably the most menacing in all of college football. Part of this is due to the fact that it's massive, as more than 21,000 students fill the student section on Saturdays in the fall. This week, Penn State had its annual student season ticket sale, and sold all of its tickets in no time.

The way it works at Penn State is each class of students get the chance to buy tickets on one day. Seniors and graduate students went on Monday, juniors on Tuesday, sophomores on Wednesday and freshmen on Thursday, meaning that tickets sold out in six minutes each day. Penn State's first home game in front of the Nittany Lion faithful will take place on Saturday, September 6, when the team hosts Akron.
