Tight end Brent Wilkerson is no longer a member of the Penn State program. After two months of indefinite suspension following a charge of indecent assault and summary harassment, PSU has dismissed Wilkerson. 247Sports' Jeff Rice broke the news this afternoon, with a statement from the school.
“We appreciate Brent’s contributions to the program and wish him success in the future,” read an official statement from the program issued Wednesday.
According to police documents, the woman drove Wilkerson and his friend home from the bars early that morning. He then fell asleep on the woman’s bed. She awoke later to find Wilkerson making unwanted advances. She reported the incident to police the next day. Wilkerson later told police that his actions were wrong. “After a couple 'No's' I should have left after the first 'No,’” he said, according to documents.
Wilkerson has eight career catches for 57 yards and a touchdown for the Nittany Lions.
