The biggest weekend of college football action is finally here. While there have been a few key games so far this season, arguably the biggest game of the year takes place on Saturday afternoon.
No. 3 Alabama hosts No. 2 LSU in a battle of College Football Playoff contenders. While most eyes will be on that game, another contest between Big Ten opponents will be taking place to the North.
Undefeated Minnesota squares off against unbeaten Penn State. The winner of Saturday’s game will move to 9-0 on the season and have a legitimate shot at a Big Ten title.
It’s arguably the biggest college football game for the Gophers in nearly 60 years.
More on Saturday’s game:
Game Time: Saturday, 12:00 p.m. ET
Spread: Penn State -6.5
Announcers: Sean McDonough, Todd Blackledge, Holly Rowe
Penn State enters as nearly a touchdown favorite. The Nittany Lions faced a tough schedule before the bye, taking down Iowa, Michigan and Michigan State to set up a huge game against the Gophers.
Meanwhile, Minnesota hasn’t faced a team of Penn State’s caliber yet this season. Nebraska was arguably the team’s most-difficult test, but the Gophers have taken care of business every week.
Can they pull off a big upset at home on Saturday?
