Penn State running back Saquon Barkley is reportedly expected to be a top 5 pick next year according to rumors at the NFL Combine.
According to FOX Sports' Bruce Feldman, several teams are expecting Penn State's Saquon Barkley to go top 5 in next year's NFL Draft— at least, that's what he heard at the NFL Combine last week.
Check it out:
Probably a pretty safe assumption, considering Barkley is an absolute beast. The 5-foot-11, 225-pound Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year set a Penn State record for rushing yards by a sophomore with 1,496. Not to mention, he did the same thing last year as a freshman, recording 1,076. He's no fluke, and it feels more like a guarantee than anything else that he'll be off the board by pick No. 6.
Barkley ran for 18 touchdowns and caught four more, and had two games where he amassed over 200 yards during his sophomore campaign, and there's no reason to suggest he can't exceed the performance as a junior. With a stacked team returning for the Nittany Lions, he'll have no shortage of opportunities to impress and build upon his already legendary resume and secure himself as a can't-miss draft pick.
