PENN STATE WAS GIVEN THE OPTION FOR A 4-YEAR DEATH PENALTY

Which is worse?

ESPN is reporting tonight that Penn State would have received a 4-year death penalty if it had not accepted the NCAA sanctions levied against the university this past Monday.

Rodney Erickson, PSU's president, spoke with ESPN's "Outside the Lines" and explained that the university did everything in its power to avoid the death penalty. Instead, the NCAA agreed with Penn State to sanctions that were "punitive and corrective in nature."

It's starting to look like PSU may have traded 12 years worth of wins to avoid four years of purgatory.
