The Purdue Boilermakers are fortunate enough to keep Jeff Brohm at the helm, despite rumors of him leaving for his alma mater Louisville.
Although this news stings for the Cardinals, it provides much-needed stability for the Boilermakers. In two seasons for Purdue, Brohm owns a 13-12 record with several signature victories, including a blowout win over Ohio State.
While he'll miss the chance to coach the program he once played football for, Brohm definitely has strong reasons to stay.
Not only does he remain the coach of a talented young team in West Lafayette, but he'll receive a significant salary boost. According to Yahoo Sports, Purdue will increase Brohm's contract by $2 million per season.
The belief is that Louisville offered a contract of similar value to Brohm. In addition, this salary would make him the third highest-paid coach in the Big Ten.
As for the Boilermakers, last weekend's victory over the Indiana Hoosiers earned them bowl eligibility.
With Brohm officially remaining with Purdue, now the focus can shift over to their upcoming matchup.
