Iowa basketball is off to an 11-2 start to the season, and is ranked No. 25 in the AP Poll this week.
Tonight, Fran McCaffery’s team has a tough Big Ten test, on the road facing the Purdue Boilermakers.
Purdue is just 8-5, but all of those losses have come to power conference opponents. Three were against ranked teams.
Iowa’s two losses came against both Big Ten opponents the Hawkeyes faced earlier in the year: Wisconsin and Michigan State.
The sportsbooks give the Boilermakers a big edge at home, and ESPN’s Basketball Power Index has followed suit.
ESPN’s BPI thinks Purdue has a nearly 75-percent chance to beat Iowa basketball at home tonight.
Purdue opened as an eight point favorite, per OddsShark. That line is up as high as 10 points at many of the sportsbooks listed there.
BPI has Purdue with a 74.4-percent chance to win, to 25.6-percent for Iowa.
Given Iowa’s slow start in Big Ten play, and Purdue’s need for wins, this is a big spot for both teams.
The game will tip off at 7 p.m. ET. Big Ten Network has the broadcast.
