Purdue F Caleb Swanigan Announces He Is Staying In NBA Draft

Purdue star Caleb Swanigan is staying in the NBA Draft.

Caleb "Biggie" Swanigan, the 2017 Big Ten Player of the Year and a first-team All-American selection, will remain in the NBA Draft.

Swanigan announced the news on Instagram today, and the Purdue basketball program confirmed it on Twitter.

In Swanigan's message to Purdue fans on his IG post, he took a quick shot at rival Indiana "the school down south."

I never talked to the media before I showed loved to my people. I gave everything every night #RNE y'all family forever made it special the 20-20 games winning the big ten y'all made it special. I don't let everybody in my heart but that get it from the dirt blue collar steelo I embraced my entire life. I fitted right in. And idc what anyone says we made Purdue look sexy. We don't need that fabricated bs like the school down south. BOILER UP FOR LIFE ! #50thelegacy #RIP5

Swanigan averaged 18.5 points, 12.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists last season, leading the Boilermakers to the Sweet Sixteen for the first time in seven years. Swanigan also improved his three-point field goal accuracy from 29 percent to 45 percent.

The latest Draft Express mock has Swanigan going 40th overall to the New Orleans Pelicans.
