Purdue linebacker Dwayne Beckford is suspended until further notice after being arrested Monday. ESPN reportsthat this isn’t the first time the senior linebacker has had a brush with the law. He has a history of drunk driving and was suspended from both Purdue’s bowl game and second semester at the university last year.

Head coach Danny Hope says further investigation is needed to determine Beckford’s future with Purdue, but until they get all the facts, he is indefinitely suspended. The reason for the arrest is unknown, but apparently Beckford was in violation of his probation from previous charges of possessing illegal substances.

Unfortunately for Purdue, the team doesn’t have many experienced linebackers, and with the loss of Beckford, they will rely on Will Lucas to take charge of the line.
