Adam Taliaferro And Eric LeGrand Named Honorary Captains For Penn State/Rutgers Game On September 13

Former Penn State cornerback Adam Taliaferro and former Rutgers defensive tackle Eric LeGrand are beloved by members of their respective universities for how they have become a source of inspiration after suffering career-ending injuries on the football field. Taliaferro was given a three percent chance of ever walking again after suffering a spinal cord injury in 2000, and after regaining the ability to walk, has gone on to become a lawyer and a member of Penn State's Board of Trustees. While LeGrand has not regained the ability to walk since he suffered a spinal injury in 2010, he has slowly regained movement throughout his body, and LeGrand has made it a goal to walk some day.

Today, it was announced that the two men will act as honorary captains when the Nittany Lions travel to New Jersey to take on the Scarlet Knights on Sept. 13.

This is such a cool gesture by the two universities, and it should make for an excellent moment before the two teams play the first Big Ten game of the 2014 season.
