Louisville Grad Transfer QB Kyle Bolin Announces Commitment To Rutgers

Louisville graduate transfer Kyle Bolin is Big Ten-bound for his final collegiate season.

This morning, Bolin announced he will be heading to Rutgers to play out his eligibility. As a grad transfer, he can take the field immediately this fall.

Rutgers offered Bolin recently and he attended the program's spring game last weekend.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound transfer chose the Scarlet Knights over Texas, Northern Illinois, Cincinnati and Southern Miss.

For his career at Louisville, Bolin threw for 2,104 yards, 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. After redshirting in 2013, he appeared in 17 games over three seasons, making six starts.

Bolin's best season came in 2015, when he threw for 1,154 yards and seven touchdowns in seven games (five starts). He backed up Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson last season.

At Rutgers, Bolin will compete with incumbent starter Gio Rescigno and incoming freshman Johnathan Lewis for the starting job. His overall experience might give him the nod over both other candidates.
