Eric LeGrand gave the commencement speech at Rutgers' graduation ceremony Sunday afternoon. The former defensive tackle, who was paralyzed from the neck down during a 2010 game against Army, graduated from the university with a bachelor's degree in labor relations.
Following the speech, Malcolm Brown, the Army player whom LeGrand collided with on the play he was injured, reached out to the Rutgers graduate.
LeGrand commented on the Instagram post, saying, "This is what it is all about, inspiring people to be they best they can be in their lives. @touchdownbrown23 and I both have our own separate journeys ahead of us but I know October 16, 2010 will always be in the both of our minds. I appreciate everything that you do as you serve and protect this country so we can do what we do every day. Thank you. #USarmy #respect."
