Report: Rutgers AD Julie Hermann Made A Crude Jerry Sandusky Joke

Rutgers athletic director Julie Hermann may be in a bit of trouble, to say the least. Just a few days after having to apologize for the school's Facebook account accidentally posting photos of Scarlet Knights fans wearing "Beat Ped State" shirts, it's been reported by NJ Advance Media that Hermann herself made a crude joke related to the Jerry Sandusky scandal last fall during a staff meeting. Here are a few details:

Multiple people interviewed by NJ Advance Media -- who would speak only on the condition of anonymity because they feared retribution -- said Hermann was talking about "reaching out and touching the donors" of the program and her punchline was to not do it "in a Sandusky way."

"Everyone looked at each other and said, 'Say what?'" said a Rutgers official at the meeting.

According to the publication, university officials have acknowledged that the remark was made. Hermann has declined comment.

It goes without saying that someone of Hermann's status should probably think about the potential consequences before letting something like that slip. We'll see if there are any repercussions.
