Rutgers Removing Ray Rice From "Knights In The NFL" Video Montage

Ray Rice, the running back who is generally regarded as the greatest player in Rutgers football history, will no longer be featured in the school's "Knights in the NFL" video montage that plays during home games at High Point Solutions Stadium. Following the release of the video of Rice hitting his then-fiancee Janay Palmer by TMZ this morning, and the subsequent announcement that he had been cut by the Baltimore Ravens and suspended indefinitely by the NFL, Rice's alma mater is now taking moves to distance themselves from the former Scarlet Knight star.

Rice had previously held the headlining spot in the montage. The 2012 edition of this video was available on YouTube as of 10 minutes before the publication of this post, and was used in an article on NJ.com, but has since been removed from the website.

Strangely, Rutgers felt the need to clarify that the removal from the video was because Rice is "no longer in the NFL," and not because of the actual acts depicted in the video.

Rutgers may want to re-clarify this statement.
