The entire Wisconsin community was dealt heartbreaking news this afternoon, as tragedy struck Howard Moore and his family.

Moore and his family were driving on the M-14 early this morning, when a driver going the wrong way struck their vehicle head-on. It unfortunately resulted in fatalities for both parties.

The woman driving the opposite way on the road was pronounced dead at the scene. Moore's wife and daughter also passed away due to the impact they took from the accident.

As for Moore and his son, they suffered injuries that aren't considered life-threatening.

Even though the crash occurred very early in the morning, the identities of those involved didn't emerge until now.

The basketball world is absolutely stunned and saddened by this news.

Moore served as the head coach at the University of Illinois at Chicago for multiple seasons. Following that gig, he joined Wisconsin's coaching staff to become an assistant for his alma mater.

There is no telling if Moore will continue assisting the Badgers, but that obviously isn't a concern at this time.

Hopefully, Moore and his son will make a full recovery in the near future.

Our thoughts are with the family and friends affected by this tragic event.
