The college football season is nearly here. In just a few weeks college football's best programs will be taking the field on Saturdays once again.

Heading into the 2018 campaign, ESPN's FPI took at look at the easiest schedules in the game. Earlier this year, Oregon held the distinction as having the easiest schedule in the country.

However, over the summer, that has changed. The easiest schedule in the country now belongs to a team in the Big Ten.

Now, that might come as a surprise until you look at which division within the Big Ten the team is from. The Wisconsin Badgers enter the 2018 season with the easiest schedule thanks to its position within the Big Ten West.

Wisconsin avoids the major competition from the Big Ten East - except for road games to Michigan and Penn State.

Wisconsin is a heavy favorite in every 2018 contest except for the road games to Michigan and Penn State. According to ESPN's FPI, the Badgers toughest game will come against the Nittany Lions, where Wisconsin has just a 36.6-percent chance to win.

Road games to Northwestern and Purdue won't be a cake walk either, but Wisconsin's non-conference schedule bodes for a quick 3-0 start to the season.
