ESPN’s Bowl Projection For Wisconsin Heading Into Conference Championship Weekend

Wisconsin had a disappointing 2018 season, which was capped off with a rivalry game loss to Minnesota. That said, the Badgers will still head to a bowl game in December.

The Badgers finished with a lackluster 7-5 record - which included losses to BYU, Michigan, Northwestern, Penn State and the aforementioned Golden Gophers. As such, they're behind a number of teams in pecking order for bowl position.

Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, Northwestern and potentially Iowa will be chosen over the Badgers. So where is Wisconsin likely headed?

ESPN's analysts do not agree on where Wisconsin could head. Kyle Bonagura has the Badgers taking on Cal in the Redbox Bowl in Santa Clara. Mitch Sherman has them taking on Vanderbilt in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl in Jacksonville.

While neither holds the prestige of a New Year's Six game, it's still a big deal. Wisconsin will head into the 2019 campaign with some momentum if it can win its bowl contest.

Wisconsin finished in a tie for second place in the Big Ten West this past season with a 5-4 mark. Northwestern won the division.

We'll know Wisconsin's actual bowl destination on Sunday.
