Paul Chryst Names Bart Houston Wisconsin's Starter For Opener Vs. LSU

Heading into the season, either senior Bart Houston or redshirted freshman Alex Hornbook would be tasked with replacing Joel Stave, the University of Wisconsin's star quarterback.

Today, head coach Paul Chryst finally made his decision.

The Badgers' Twitter account posted earlier this evening that Bart Houston was named the starter for Wisconsin's season opener against LSU on Sept. 3.

Of the two competing quarterbacks, Houston definitely had more game experience than Hornibrook, as he replaced an injured Stave last year against Illinois. In that game alone, he completed 22 of 33 passes for two touchdowns and two interceptions. In his career, he's gone 21-for-51 and 295 yards with four touchdowns.
