Melvin Gordon spent four years at Wisconsin. They were four very, very good years.
The 6-foot-1, 215-pound running back's name is spread all over the Badgers' record book - most rushing yards in a season (2,587), most rushing yards in a game (408), highest yards- per-carry average in a career (7.8).
Gordon is now gone to the NFL, picked by the San Diego Chargers in the first round, but Wisconsin will always be part of him. The Heisman Trophy finalist posted a heartfelt note to his college program this afternoon.
Wisconsin will have a pretty tough time attempting to replace Gordon this fall. The Badgers open their season Sept. 5 against Alabama.
