No. 8 Wisconsin throttled Michigan last week in a blowout win. There's no question it was one of the more impressive victories of the season. But as typically happens in college football after a statement win, the Badgers are struggling a week later.
Wisconsin is holding a slim, 7-3 lead at the half over Northwestern. In a game with two teams which field a similar style, it's mostly even through two quarters.
The game wasn't expected to be close. The Wildcats came into this contest with a 1-2 record with losses to Stanford and Michigan State. Neither defeat was all that competitive.
But each game is a new season for teams across the country. Northwestern is trying to flip the switch and come away with a big win over Wisconsin.
The Badgers started the game with an impressive touchdown drive. On fourth-and two, star RB Jonathan Taylor took the ball 13 yards for a touchdown — like last week, another fast start for Wisconsin.
But that was all the Badgers could muster up on offense in the first half. Northwestern put together a 10 play, 83 yard drive later in the first period to tack on a field goal.
Can the Wildcats pull of an unexpected upset? Or will Wisconsin get things figured out in the second half?
Stay tuned for further updates about the game.
