Wisconsin Basketball Coach Bo Ryan Announces Immediate Retirement

Bo Ryan is retiring - for real this time.

The Wisconsin men's basketball coach announced Tuesday night that he is retiring at the end of the fall semester, which is now.

Ryan, 67, announced earlier this year that he planned on retiring at the end of the 2015-16 season, but backed off that statement this past summer. He announced his decision to retire after Wisconsin's win against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

Ryan has been the Badgers' head coach since 2001, compiling a 364-130 record and two trips to the Final Four. He made 14 NCAA Tournaments leading the Madison, Wisc. program.

Wisconsin has struggled this season, as it's off to a 7-5 start. Assistant coach Greg Gard will take over.
