Wisconsin football has reportedly added a new opponent to its 2019 schedule.
The Badgers will bring Kent State out of the MAC to Camp Randall on October 5, 2019, according to an update to FBSchedules.com.
According to the report, Wisconsin was set to host North Texas on that date, but will instead move the game against the Mean Green to the 2025 season.
From FBSchedules, which learned about the change after obtaining a memorandum of understanding by putting in a Freedom of Information Act request to North Texas:
Wisconsin was scheduled to host the North Texas Mean Green on Oct. 5, 2019. According to the memorandum, the Wisconsin-North Texas game has been moved to Sept. 6, 2025.
The newly created opening in Wisconsin’s 2019 football schedule will be filled by the Kent State Golden Flashes, according to the MOA. The game is slated for the Oct. 5, 2019.
With the change, this is what Wisconsin's 2019 schedule currently looks like.
8/31: at USF
9/7: vs. Central Michigan
9/21: vs. Michigan
9.28: vs. Northwestern
10/5: vs. Kent State
10/12: vs. Michigan State
10/19: at Illinois
10/26: at Ohio State
11/9: vs. Iowa
11/16: at Nebraska
11/23: vs. Purdue
11/30: at Minnesota
This gives Wisconsin an extremely home-loaded front end to the schedule, and a fairly challenging finish, with four of the final six games on the road.
Interestingly, this is will also be the first match-up between the Badgers and Golden Flashes.
