Wisconsin officially welcomed a transfer guard this afternoon.
Wisconsin basketball announced the arrival of transfer guard Trevor Anderson this afternoon. Anderson, who played as a freshman last season at Wisconsin-Green Bay, originally announced he was transferring to Wisconsin in early May.
Anderson will have to sit out the 2017-18 season, per NCAA rules. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.
The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Anderson averaged 9.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 28.5 minutes per game in his lone year for the Phoenix.
He had three points, four rebounds and one assist in 33 minutes of action in an early-season loss to the Badgers.
A three-star recruit out of Stevens Point (Wisc.) Area Senior, Anderson originally chose Wisconsin-Green Bay over Albany, Drake, Lafayette, Lehigh, South Dakota, South Dakota State and Toledo.
The Badgers finished the 2016-17 campaign with a 27-10 record and reached the Sweet Sixteen for the fourth-straight year.
