Wisconsin Reportedly Dropped 3-Star QB Ben Bryant After He Tweeted About Georgia Offer

La Grange (Ill.) Lyons Township three-star QB Ben Bryant had been committed to Wisconsin since December.

On Friday, Bryant received some stunning news. The Badgers were pulling his scholarship after he had tweeted about receiving a recent offer from Georgia.

Here is the tweet in question.

“I got a call this morning from Wisconsin saying that there’s no longer a spot for me there because I posted that I got another offer,” Bryant told Scout.com's Wisconsin affiliate. “Very disappointed.”

Now, Wisconsin also has a commitment from 2018 three-star quarterback Chase Wolf, but Bryant told Scout.com he knew the Badgers were taking a second QB. However, Bryant also indicated he had minimal contact with the UW staff for some time.

When you factor that in, it sounds like Wisconsin was having some buyer's remorse and was looking for a reason to drop Bryant. He gave it to them when he tweeted about the Georgia offer.

After all, prospects tweet about new offers all the time, even after they have committed somewhere. They are pretty much never dropped for doing so.

Bryant is the No. 24 Pro-Style quarterback in the country, according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings. He now holds offers from Central Michigan and Georgia.
