Being a head college football coach is one of the most demanding professions in the athletic world.
The recruiting game never ends, neither does the need to raise funds so your program can compete in the facilities arm race. Oh, and forget about on-field pressure. If you don’t win a lot, and quickly, you’ll be getting a pink slip sooner rather than later.
Every year, there are different coaches who enter the season with a greater need to win than some of their contemporaries. For many, their entire future hinges on how many games they put into the left column in the win-loss record.

Some of these coaches have been at their respective schools for several years, while others seemingly just got there. Either way, if they don’t get it done, they risk getting fired.
