Periodically, we’ve seen college football team Twitter accounts randomly be suspended. Usually, after some time to clear up whatever happened, the account is restored.
Over the last few days, there have been four Power 5 college football accounts suspended by Twitter. On Saturday, Iowa and Iowa State were banned, and two more accounts got the boot today.
According to the college football subReddit, Auburn and Rutgers have had their accounts removed. The NBA’s Houston Rockets had their Twitter also recently taken down.

Typically, these punishments occur because of some type of copyright violation. Usually, the accounts return in a couple of days.

Iowa and Iowa State are still out, and we expect Auburn and Rutgers to be MIA for a little bit as well. College football Twitter, be warned.
