One of the top running backs in the country has decided to open up his recruitment.
Jamious Griffin, a four-star running back out of Rome, Georgia, announced his de-commitment on social media on Monday night.
The four-star prospect had been committed to N.C. State, but he's decided to back off of his pledge to the Wolfpack.
"After praying and talking it over with my family, I think it's in my best interest to re open my recruitment. I would like to thank Coach Kitchens, Coach Doeren and the Wolf Pack family for all their support over the years," he wrote.
Here's his full announcement:
Griffin is a 5-foot-10, 205-pound running back prospect out of Georgia. He's ranked the No. 22 RB and No. 358 overall player in the class by 247Sports' Composite Rankings.
There are several major schools pursuing the four-star running back, including Auburn and Georgia Tech, among other schools.
Griffin will be taking his time to make his next decision, but says he will be sending in his Letter of Intent on February 6.
This is a tough loss for N.C. State's 2019 class, as the Wolfpack's class ranks No. 28 in the country and No. 3 in the ACC. Griffin was one of their highest-rated commits.
