Three people are now dead in an “awful” crash involving a college football standout.

At least three people, including two children, were killed in a two-vehicle accident in Florida this weekend. A standout 20-year-old college football star was involved in the wreck. Police do not believe alcohol or drugs were involved.

Adarius Hayes, a standout linebacker for the Miami Hurricanes, was reportedly behind the vehicle of one of the cars. He was involved in a two-vehicle wreck in Largo, Florida. Hayes survived the crash, though three others did not.

It was a tragic scene.

From the report:

Behind the wheel of a Dodge Durango, Hayes allegedly struck a Kia with four occupants that was making a left turn in front of his truck. Two kids, 10-year-old Jabari Elijah Solomon and 4-year-old Charlie Herbert Solomon Rivera, were declared dead at the scene. The driver of the Kia, 78-year-old Gail Price, succumbed to her injuries at a hospital on Sunday, according to CBS News.

It was initially reported that two people died, though the number increased to three on Sunday night.

Hayes was a top recruit coming out of high school, picking Miami over several other major programs. He committed to The U over Florida, Alabama, Florida State, Michigan and Notre Dame, among other schools.

Our thoughts are with the friends and family members of the victims on Sunday evening.

May they all rest in peace.
