4-Star DL Greg Emerson Commits To Tennessee One Day After Suffering Ankle Injury At The Opening

The weekend at The Opening ended on a high note for four-star defensive lineman Greg Emerson.

Just a day after suffering an ugly leg injury during a drill, Emerson announced his commitment to Tennessee tonight on the NFL Network.

Emerson is the No. 2 recruit in the state of Tennessee. Butch Jones now has commitments from six of the top nine in-state prospects.

Reportedly, he could be back from his injury--a dislocated ankle and fractured fibula--in as little as 4-6 weeks if all goes well.

The 6-foot-3, 296-pound Emerson is the No. 5 defensive tackle and No. 76 overall recruit in 247Sports’ Composite Rankings.

He joins four-star wide receiver Jordyn Adams (UNC) as prospects who committed from The Opening so far tonight.
