James Cook's final decision was one of the major story lines of the early signing period.

Would the four-star running back stay true to his Georgia pledge and sign with the Bulldogs? Or would he go back to Florida State, the school he was committed to early in the process and the place where his brother Dalvin developed into a star and a first-round NFL Draft pick.

Well, we have our answer. Cook is bound for Athens, and the chance to carve out his own path.

Georgia announced moments ago that the Miami (Fla.) Northwestern product's NLI was in, officially locking him into Georgia's 2018 recruiting class.

Cook is the No. 3 running back and the No. 31 overall recruit in the 2018 cycle, according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings. Georgia landed the No. 1 and No. 3 backs in 2018, with five-star Zamir White joining Cook in the class.

The early signing period begins today and runs through Friday. It appears that most high-profile recruits will sign this week, which could take some of the shine away from National Signing Day in February.
