4-Star Running Back Recruit Decommits From Nebraska
Kewan Lacy, a four-star running back recruit in the class of 2024, has announced that he will be decomitting from Nebraska. Lacy issued a statement regarding his recruitment on Thursday, declaring it "100% open."
Lacy said that he wanted to thank Nebraska's fanbase for their support as well as the coaches for recruiting him and giving him the opportunity to play.
Lacy has received offers from several top programs around the country including Alabama, Baylor, Arizona State and Ole Miss.
The Texas-based recruit is also a track-and-field athlete, competing in the 100-meter jump.
Lacy originally committed to Nebraska back in June, only a few days after taking a visit on campus in Lincoln.
Lacy's decision to decommit is another obstacle for head coach Matt Rhule to clear. The team is currently 4-3 with an outside chance of making the Big Ten title game, and they only need two more wins on the season to be bowl eligible.
Nebraska will face three unranked teams before ending the season against one of the sport's best defenses in Iowa. Two wins out of its final four games will be enough to go to a bowl game, and that is likely Rhule and the Huskers' goal for the rest of this season.
As for Lacy, many believe that he will commit to Ole Miss after electing to decommit from Nebraska.
