5-star linebacker Baron Browning announced his commitment to Ohio State.
Baron Browning took to Twitter to announce his commitment to Ohio State.
Browning also had offers from Alabama, Texas, Florida State, and many more big time programs. The linebacker is from Texas, as noted in his commitment tweet. Rather than stay home and commit to Texas, which now has Tom Herman as its head coach, Browning decided it was time to "spread his wings" and commit to Ohio State.
It's not a bad choice for the 5-star linebacker, as Urban Meyer continuously brings in top tier talent to Ohio State and turns those athletes into NFL prospects. Oh, and he'll be able to play in the best conference in college football. On one of the best teams in college football.
Browning is the No. 2 rated outside linebacker and No. 9 rated player in the country, according to 247Sports.
The Buckeyes just keep adding to a stacked class. Ohio State ranks second, just behind Alabama for the top class of 2017. Browning's announcement could very well push the Buckeyes ahead of Saban and the Tide.
