One of the top linebackers in the country has made his college decision. He's heading to the Big Ten.

Brandon Smith, the No. 2 linebacker in the 2019 class, announced this afternoon that he's committed to Penn State. This is a massive pickup for the Nittany Lions' class.

The 6-foot-4, 223-pound linebacker chose PSU over Alabama and Ohio State, among other programs.

Smith had scholarship offers from nearly every school in the country.

He announced his decision at a ceremony this evening.

Smith is ranked the No. 30 overall recruit in the 2019 class by 247Sports' Composite Rankings.

The five-star linebacker is Penn State's first five-star commit in the '19 class. PSU's class is ranked the No. 27 class in the country.
