R.J. Mickens is one of the top recruits in the country for the 2020 class. The five-star defensive back is ranked the No. 36 overall prospect in the nation by 247Sports' Composite Rankings.

Ohio State is one of the schools in pursuit of Mickens, who recently took a visit to Columbus to check out the Buckeyes.

On his visit, Mickens sent a message to one of OSU's top players. He's a confident prospect, that's for sure.

Mickens, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound cornerback out of Texas, is confident that he's faster than Ohio State star Kendall Sheffield, who's one of the fastest players in college football.

"I will race Kendall. I’ll beat him. Tell him," he told reporters.

We now await Sheffield's response. Maybe we can get this race to happen if Mickens ends up committing to Ohio State.

Texas A&M is currently believed to be the favorite to land Mickens. Alabama, Clemson, Michigan, Notre Dame and Nebraska, among other programs, have offered him.
