Maryland's football program is in need of a new head coach, as the Terrapins rightfully opted to fire head coach D.J. Durkin on Wednesday, shortly after the school had announced that he was being reinstated.

Several names have surfaced in regards to the opening. A new one surfaced today - it's a big one.

Unfortunately for Maryland fans, though, it's probably not one they're going to like.

Former Tennessee head coach Butch Jones is reportedly interested in the job. Jones, who was fired by Tennessee, is currently working under Nick Saban at Alabama. reported Jones' interest today, citing a source close to the head coach.

It seems unlikely that the interest would be reciprocated by Maryland, though it remains unclear how the coaching world is viewing the Terrapins' job with everything that's transpired this year.

Some other names that have been mentioned for the opening are Alabama assistant Mike Locksley, Syracuse head coach Dino Babers and former LSU head coach Les Miles.

Stay tuned.
