Colorado State is set to cross paths with the biggest story of the 2023 college football season when they take on Colorado on Saturday night.

The game between in-state rivals will be Deion Sanders' third game at the helm for the Buffaloes, and their final non-conference game before heading into the Pac-12 gauntlet.

Colorado State head coach Jay Norvell is making headlines ahead of the matchup for comments about Sanders. The Rams coach criticized the Pro Football Hall of Famer for wearing a hat and sunglasses during interviews.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter weighed in on the comments, calling them "fighting words."

"When I talk to grownups, I take my hat and glasses off," Norvell said. "That's what my mother taught me.

Colorado State is looking to shock the college football world with an upset win over the heavily-favored Buffaloes, but Norvell has added bulletin board material for Colorado ahead of Saturday night's matchup.

Deion Sanders and some of his players talked about how last week's game against Nebraska was "personal" for them after actions and comments from Nebraska.

With Norvell poking the bear ahead of Saturday's game, it seems that Colorado has all the reason in the world to take things personally once again.

If Colorado can play like they did against Nebraska, it could be a long day for Norvell and the Rams.
