The Crimson Tide are like a previous Ohio State team, but not the 2016 version.

With Alabama now sitting at 11-1 and unable to play in the SEC's Championship Game, the comparisons to a previous Ohio State team have begun to surface.

The 2016 Buckeyes also went 11-1 and didn't play in the Big Ten Championship Game, but still made the College Football Playoff.

Will the same happen with the Crimson Tide this year?

Maybe.

Alabama, though, feels a lot more like the 2015 version of Ohio State than the 2016 edition.

The 2015 Ohio State team was the most-talented team in the country, ranked preseason No. 1. It just didn't click for the Buckeyes that year, though. They lost a disappointing home game to Michigan State and missed out on the College Football Playoff.

That team, while talented, really didn't have any impressive wins and failed to live up to its potential.

That's what Alabama feels like this year.

Does that mean the Crimson Tide should miss out on the College Football Playoff, too?

Maybe not, but when comparing Alabama to an Ohio State team, make it the 2015 edition.
