Here's what the betting line would be for a Crimson Tide-Patriots matchup.

There's a (dumb) portion of the sports world that likes to boast Alabama would beat X NFL team this year! Usually, it's Alabama would beat the Browns!

Of course, those statements aren't true. The Crimson Tide, a team with maybe 20ish NFL-ready players on its roster every season, would not beat any NFL teams.

Still, it's a fun hypothetical people like to pose. And it's kind of happening again.

WJOX 94.5 FM host Tony Kurre asked this week about a betting line for a hypothetical game between Alabama and the Patriots. He's not claiming the Crimson Tide would beat New England. He just wants to know what the betting line would be.

We now have a betting line for said game. The Patriots would be more than a three-touchdown favorite. From 247Sports:

The Crimson Tide would be a near four-touchdown underdog — 26 points — against Tom Brady and the AFC champs, according to the Prediction Machine.

That seems low. Bill Belichick's schemes against a 19-year-old quarterback in Tua Tagovailoa probably wouldn't be very fun to watch (unless you're a Patriots fan).

The Patriots beat two NFL teams by 25 points this year, after all. New England blew out the Broncos, 41-16, and the Raiders, 33-8.

So, yeah, I'm going with New England. Who would you take?
