With the release of the new AP top 25 poll moments ago, both major sets of rankings have been updated ahead of Week 8.

For the second week in a row, we had a massive upset in the top 10. Last week, it was No. 3 Georgia falling to unranked South Carolina.

This weekend, No. 6 Wisconsin fell to unranked Illinois. The loss knocked the Badgers out of the top 10 and down to No. 13.

Auburn has gotten back into the top 10 after beating Arkansas. Meanwhile, Iowa State and Wake Forest have cracked the rankings once again.

This is your updated AP top 25 after Week 8:

  1. Alabama
  2. LSU
  3. Ohio State
  4. Clemson
  5. Oklahoma
  6. Penn State
  7. Florida

Next weekend, we get Ohio State against Wisconsin, though the Badgers' loss yesterday puts a slight damper on that matchup. Michigan and Notre Dame will battle in primetime.

But the biggest game, at least on paper, is the SEC West showdown between LSU and Auburn. Set for 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS, it will mark the second pivotal contest in Death Valley in a three-week span.
